A significant number of people in Nigeria have gone to a variety of social media channels in order to share their distress about the current events. The responses are shown below:
Look at Nigeria! The occultic police can’t say no to abuse and intimidation. A lady was arrested and transferred to Abuja because she reviewed a bad product.
In civilized countries, if you are not satisfied with a product, you’ll get 100% refund not police k!dnap. You people don’t know how horrible this country is when looked at from afar. You are in bondage! @general_oluchi
Terrible PR from this company. A lady gave a review of this product (which was horrible) and this company got her arrested. They should have taken the feedback, investigate where she bought it from and take correction then gift her good cans of the product. But no, no sense. @Morris_Monye
Wait a minute, You mean to tell me that this lady had just this to say about the product she bought and the company arrested her for defamation? When i first saw the gist i decided to look for the lady's post first to be sure of what she was being arrested for. I guess we'd probably all be in jail by now going by the number of times we've dragged some telecom companies and banks in Nigeria. Take a tour to Google playstore and see even more horrible reviews that people leave on some brands, yet the brands in question still professionally reply to the reviews. I'm sorry to say this but, both the Erisco foods company and the police who made the arrest are very unserious TBVH. @odirah_cellz
She didn't even review it as a bad product but to confirm from the general public or her followers if what is got was the original or fake one. But this is Nigeria where all kinds of shit happens. @collinsekwenug1
The tomato paste was bad, fact! We all cook and know when we purchase a bad product. Instead of reaching out to her to solve the problem, the compNy called the police. Things that can only happen in Nigeria! I am not putting words in her mouth, my tweet is my opinion of the product. She reviewed a BAD product, that’s the summary of it. She doesn’t have to say it’s bad for it to be. What she got was bad and should have been addressed! There’s no need for sugarcoating faxf. @general_oluchi
She should NOT have been arrested. The matter was NOT of a criminal nature. Having said that, let's all try to be careful when giving reviews in this lawless land of ours. @elnuksamoht
Someone gave their honest review about a product that they consumed. The manufacturers got her arrested. EriscoFoodsLtd nothing should happen to this young lady. I expect NafdacAgency to look into this product and check the amount of sugar to see if it's safe. @amchidox
Customer satisfaction is always important in every business. The customer is always right, why arrest your customer??? @prinzkel1
Good to see this. These tomato 🍅 paste companies, how are they checked? Every day one new name is in the market. The last one I bought was pink in color I was scared to use it. Kindly look into this sir @crescentian0
I have experienced same thing..bought one sometime in March or so,opened it to make stew...Lo and behold,it was purely pink in color. I didn't dare @adaolisah127
They must have something to hide if they’re so quick to arrest a review!! She didn’t even slander the brand fgs. @joyusa6
