“Tinubu on the verge of appointing Wike as a minister as a reward for rigging polls”- Atiku’s aide alleges
The special assistant on public communication to the people’s democratic party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Phrank Shaibu, in a statement on sunday night accused Bola Ahmed Tinubu of plans to reward Nyesom Wike, immediate former governor of Rivers state with a ministerial position for “rigging the presidential elections in the state”.
Stating that the elections in Rivers state which he tagged “disgraceful" was “clearly rigged”. He said that it was tragic that Tinubu was planning on rewarding Wike with a ministerial position despite the accusations of rigging leveled against him. Recall that Nigerians put up a petition demanding visa bans against wike on grounds that the former governor aided in the rigging of the presidential election and so far, nearly 300,000 nigerians have signed the petition.
In his statement he said, “ Tinubu is now on the verge of appointing Wike as a minister as a reward for that disgraceful election. What a shame! And this is the character who claimed to have fought for the actualisation of June 12?”
He also appealed to the United States and the United Kingdom to speed up the visa ban process, urging them to reveal the identities of those implicated in the election rigging.
“I call on the United States and the United Kingdom to speed up the process of imposing visa bans on election riggers. They should also reveal the identities of those implicated in election rigging, especially staffs of INEC and members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC)”
