Senior U.S. court rejects Bola Tinubu's emergency appeal

Senior U.S. court rejects Bola Tinubu's emergency appeal, orders CSU to give Atiku records, testify under oath Monday afternoon.

Recent events have resulted in the urgent appeal lodged by Tinubu being turned down by a court in the United States, and the court has also issued an order requiring the University of Chicago to furnish Atiku with relevant academic records that are not protected by privilege. The filing of these records must be completed before the deadline, which has been set for Monday at noon.

In the case that Atiku Abubakar brought against Chicago State University, Judge Nancy Maldonado has decided to side with Atiku Abubakar and deliver a decision in his favour. In addition to this, she has thrown out the appeal that was presented by the intervenor, Mr. Tinubu.

The presiding judge granted an order to Chicago State University, stating that the university must release the academic records of Bola A. Tinubu. The deadline that she has specified is this coming Monday, October 2nd, which is the day after tomorrow.

Additionally, she issued a direction that required the completion of the deposition of Chicago State University by 5:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT) on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

It is important to note that Judge Maldonado has given a cautionary remark stating that any petition for a suspension of this order while awaiting an appeal to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeal will be rejected. This is something that the court should keep in mind.
