Following the outbreak of Lassa Fever in the country, the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu held its sensitization programme titled "CURTAILING THE FURTHER SPREAD OF LASSA FEVER OUTBREAK IN ENUGU STATE"

The programme which was held at the International Conference Centre had the Institute's Rector, Prof. Nweze Agustine Uchechukwu, the Deputy Rector, Engr. Sunday, the Registrar Dr. Mrs Ijeoma C. Anieke, departmental Heads as well as Managerial staffs in attendance.

On the other hand, the Public Relations Officer of the Institute Barr. Akunna Mark Eze, who made the arrangement for the insightful programme invited the IMT medical Officer, Dr. Obasi Chikezie who educated the students and lecturers about the various, possible way it could spread, symptoms and prevention measures.

The medical officer emphasized that the students and everyone should avoid drinking garri at this period. This is because of the fact that Rats might have access to it without our knowledge. He also advised that there should be thorough cleanliness of our environment.
However, the programme was not only bodered on the Lassa fever, it was also extended to the current World most talked about disease, Corona Virus.

While addressing the students, the Rector expressed his pleasure on the massive turn out of students and staffs and encouraged all to stay safe while in this difficult time.
